Ayushman Card substantially improved quality of life of population: Dr. Devinder Manyal

04-09-2022:Ayushman Card has substantially improved the quality of life of ‘Aam Aadmi’, said former Cabinet Minister Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal who is also the General Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Ayushman Yojana is a big gift of Modi government to the ‘Aam Aadmi’ which has substantially improved the quality of life of ‘Aam Aadmi’. Now every ailing needy has gained access to the treatment options available”, said Dr. Manyal.

“Ayushman Yojana has also increased the private sector participation in helping the masses to achieve their optimal health which was earlier impossible for a majority chunk of population due to the high-end treatment costs. Now the out-of-pocket expenditure has substantially reduced for both the secondary and the tertiary care treatments”, said Dr. Manyal.

Dr. Manyal was recounting the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Card, while he inaugurated a multi-speciality free medical camp at Maxx Lyfe hospital Bathindi Morh Jammu. The camp was organised by the management of Max Lyfe hospital run by Dr Pawan Kumar. The hospital is already running multi-specialty OPD and 24*7 emergency services.

During the free check-up camp, doctors at the hospital examined patients of various specialities Like Surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, Eye, Ortho, Urology, CTVS etc. the patients were given free medicines along with the routine basic investigations.

The team of doctors advised the needy patients to use their Ayushman Bharat Card for getting free treatment in all the Govt hospitals and empanelled Private hospitals.

Dr. Pawan informed that soon this hospital will get empanelled under Ayushman Bharat Yojana and free treatment will be provided to such card holders.

Addressing the patients there, Dr. Manyal added that Jammu and Kashmir is the only region in the country where each and every family can avail free medical services under Ayushman Bharat Yojana upto Rs 5.00 Lakhs per family.

Dr. Manyal said that since the start of this Yojana lakhs of people have availed free medical services worth crores of rupees.  He said that even a costly surgical procedure like Knee replacement is being done in government hospitals of Jammu Kashmir absolutely free of cost. The poor patients of Oncology (Cancer patients) had to spend lakhs of rupees for their treatment but the treatment is now available free under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

He said the private hospitals are also providing free treatment to such patients and today such hospitals are playing a very important role in health services. Due to heavy rush in Govt hospitals, the patients had to wait for weeks and sometimes for months for their surgical procedures but since the launch of Ayushman Bharat Card the patients are availing free services in private hospitals also thereby reducing the rush in government run hospitals.

Dr. Manyal said that with the introduction of tele medicine and tele radiology and other digital facilities it has become easier to diagnose and treat the patients at any level. He appreciated the management and team of doctors of Maxx Lyfe hospital for the free medical camp and free treatment of the patients.
