Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary to be celebrated in Kashmir: Confederation
Jammu, March 29, 2026: A meeting of the All India Confederation of Dalit, OBC, Minority, and Adivasi Organizations was held today under the presidentship of R.K. Kalsotra, in which members of the state body s/sh Er BL Bhardwaj, Romesh Sarmal, Ramesh Uttama, Giani Kuldeep Singh, Ashraf Ali, Dr Romesh Kaith, Ashu Peter Mattoo, Er Sham Bassan, Mohinder Kumar, Arun Baba, and S Harsis Kranti participated.
In the discussion in the last few days, there has been a caste war going on on social media and Yamini Satta par in which prominent people are found showing themselves superior in casteism and comments from the Dalit community are also condemnable. Along with this, deaths of Dalits have also been reported in the name of casteism.
The Confederation believes that we are all among those who believe in the Indian Constitution, and we have to become good followers; we have to work on creating a casteless society, as shown by Baba Saheb Ambedkar ji, and we have to remain united in protecting and implementing our rights.
It was also discussed that in all the FIRs registered in police stations on the basis of SC ST atrocities, if the police have not yet arrested the named accused, then they should immediately arrest them and present the challan in the court as soon as possible so that the truth can be revealed.
There have been deaths of some Dalit youths as well. The SC/ST Atrocity Act should be added to their FIR and the nominated culprits should be arrested and the challan should be presented in the court as soon as possible so that the culprits are punished by the court and the court can put a check on those who indulge in caste discrimination.
RK Kalsotra said that Baba Sahib’s birth anniversary is coming and preparations are underway to celebrate it everywhere in Jammu province and it has already been celebrated at some places. This is a welcoming step but at the same time we will have to support in saving the Constitution and saving the rights; just Jai Bhim Jai Bhim will not work because the Constitution is being changed and rights are being abolished, a glimpse of which is being seen in the protest against the implementation of UGC.
Kalsotra ji further informed the members that the workers of the Doma Confederation from Kashmir Province have requested that this time the state function of the Confederation should celebrate Baba Sahib ji’s 135th birth anniversary in Kashmir, which was welcomed by all the participants and a unanimous decision was taken that this time on 14th April the Confederation will celebrate Baba Sahib Ambedkar ji’s 135th birth anniversary in Srinagar so that in the coming times, Baba Sahib’s followers are found in every home in both Jammu and Kashmir as well.
A decision was taken that this time all the tehsil and district units of Jammu and Kashmir will participate in the Srinagar state functions on 14th April 2026 and after this, they will finalize the dates of their respective tehsils and districts and organize birth celebrations so that the movement of Confederation “Save Constitution and Save Rights” can be further intensified.
