Bakrid Holiday in Ladakh Rescheduled for May 28

General Administration Department issues fresh order modifying earlier 2025 notification for Bakrid observance.

JAMMU, May 26: The Administration of Ladakh has rescheduled the public holiday for Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) to May 28, 2026.

As per an order issued by the General Administration Department, the holiday will now be observed on Thursday instead of May 27. The decision amends a previous government notification released in November 2025 regarding the list of gazetted holidays in the Union Territory.

Officials said the revised date has been notified for observance across Ladakh in view of the updated festival schedule.
