BBIA highlights pressing industrial issues, JPDCL’s MD responds with immediate action on staffing shortages
BBIA Delegation Meets with Mr. Ch. Mohd. Yasin (IAS), MD (JPDCL)
Jammu, 29-08-2024: A delegation from the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), led by President Sh. Lalit Mahajan, along with Senior Vice President Sh. Tarun Singla, met with Mr. Ch. Mohd. Yasin (IAS), Managing Director of Jammu Power Development Corporation Ltd. (JPDCL), to discuss critical issues impacting the industrial sector. The meeting was held in the presence of BBIA Treasurer Sh. Rishi Kant Gupta and Former BBIA President Sh. Annil Suri.
During the discussion, Sh. Lalit Mahajan and Sh. Tarun Singla emphasized several urgent concerns that are adversely affecting industrial operations within the Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex. Among the primary issues raised were the shortage of junior engineers (JEs) and linemen, which has been causing significant disruptions during technical faults. The delegation also urged the managing director to reconsider the requirement for industrial units with a power load of 1000 kV to create a sub-station. Additionally, they requested the application of simple interest on outstanding power bill payments and advocated for the timely disbursement of payments to MSME units that supply materials to the power departments.
In response to the BBIA’s concerns, Mr. Ch. Mohd. Yasin took immediate action by approving the appointment of six linemen for the Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex—a request that had been pending for the past four years. The BBIA delegation expressed their sincere gratitude for this prompt and much-needed decision.
Mr. Ch. Mohd. Yasin further assured the BBIA members that all necessary measures would be taken to address the other issues raised during the meeting, reaffirming JPDCL’s commitment to supporting the industrial sector.
