BCCI Declares Rs 21 Crore Prize for Asia Cup Winners
Prize money announced after India’s emphatic five-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai
Dubai, Sep 30: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a prize of ₹21 crore for India’s players and support staff following their emphatic victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final at the Dubai International Stadium. The board described India’s win as a strong statement both on and off the field.
In a social media post, the BCCI wrote: “3 blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.” The remark highlighted India’s clean sweep over Pakistan in all three encounters of the tournament.
India’s triumph secured a record-extending ninth Asia Cup title and reinforced their dominance in high pressure matches. After Pakistan looked well poised at 113/1 in 12.4 overs, a brilliant spell from Kuldeep Yadav, supported by disciplined bowling from the team, triggered a dramatic collapse, bundling Pakistan out for 146.
The Indian chase was not without challenges. After an early top order collapse, Tilak Varma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69, while Shivam Dube finished the job with a flurry of sixes, sealing a thrilling five wicket victory with two balls to spare.
