Bengaluru Police Raid Rave Party on City Outskirts, Detain 130 for Investigation

Police seize suspected narcotics and detain 130 individuals, including 35 women, after a late night raid on the city outskirts near Ramanagara district.

BENGALURU, Nov 1 — A team of Bengaluru Rural police raided a rave party being held at a private resort near Devigere Cross in Ramanagara district on the outskirts of the city early Saturday, detaining 130 individuals, including 35 women, for questioning.
According to officials, the raid was conducted around 3 a.m. by a team led by South Zone SP Srinivas Gowda following a tip-off about a rave party taking place in the area. The detained individuals were taken to Ramanagara District Hospital for medical examination.
The party venue, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kaggalipura police station, was reportedly hosting residents of Bengaluru. Police sources said that narcotic substances are suspected to have been used at the event. The resort property is said to belong to a person identified as Suhas Gowda.
During the raid, police reportedly restricted media personnel from recording videos at the site. Preliminary investigations are underway to determine the extent of narcotics use and the identities of the organisers.
Authorities are yet to release details about the seizures made during the operation.
This comes months after a similar raid in May, when Bengaluru city police busted a “birthday party” at a farmhouse in Kannamangala village and detained 31 people, including IT professionals. Seized items from that raid included cocaine, hydro ganja, hashish, and other substances.
Police said further investigation is ongoing into the latest incident.
