Bhullar Breaks Into Top 10 After Strong Start at Singapore Open

Indian golfer shoots 5 under 67 to secure T10 spot after first round; South Korea’s Jeunghun Wang leads the field with an impressive 8 under 64.

Singapore, Nov 7 — India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar made an impressive start at the Singapore Open 2025, carding a solid 5-under 67 to finish the opening day tied at 10th place at the Singapore Island Country Club.

Bhullar’s round included seven birdies and two bogeys, leaving him just three shots behind the leader, South Korea’s Jeunghun Wang, who dazzled with an 8-under 64 in the $2 million event. After a steady start featuring three birdies and two bogeys in his first 12 holes, Bhullar found momentum between the 13th and 17th, picking up four birdies in five holes.

Among other Indian golfers, Ajeetesh Sandhu and veteran SSP Chawrasia ended the round three shots behind Bhullar at 2-under 70.

Jeunghun Wang, returning to form after national service, topped the leaderboard with nine birdies and a single bogey. He leads by one stroke over Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Gunn Charoenkul, and Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent, all of whom shot 7-under 65.

“The irons were really good today, and my putting was hot too,” said Wang, who last lifted a trophy nearly eight years ago. “I haven’t won in a long time, and I really want to get that feeling again.”

Meanwhile, Asian Tour veterans Kiradech and Gunn showed flashes of brilliance despite late bogeys, while Singapore’s 16-year-old amateur Troy Storm impressed with a 67 to become the leading local player.

With just three shots separating Bhullar from the top spot, the Indian star remains firmly in contention as the tournament heads into the second round at the iconic Singapore Island Country Club.
