‘Biggest Political Conspiracy’: Arvind Kejriwal Breaks Down After Court Clears Him in Liquor Policy Case

Emotional AAP Leader Breaks Down, Claims Case Was Fabricated to Target Party

New Delhi, Feb 27 – A tearful Arvind Kejriwal on Friday described the corruption case against him as the “biggest political conspiracy” in independent India after a court discharged him in the high-profile liquor policy case.

As the verdict was announced, the three time former Delhi chief minister broke down in front of reporters, asserting that the case was entirely fabricated to undermine the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). “The court has proved that Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and AAP are ‘Kattar Imaandar’,” he said, alleging that the conspiracy involved the top political leadership.

The court’s order also discharged former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia along with 21 others, citing serious gaps and contradictions in the CBI’s chargesheet. Special Judge Jitendra Singh noted that the evidence presented did not support the allegations and criticized the agency for relying on approver statements to build its case.

The CBI had been investigating alleged irregularities in the scrapped excise policy implemented by the erstwhile AAP government, but the court found no prima facie evidence against Kejriwal or Sisodia, rejecting the agency’s charges.
