Bihar Elections: BJP Releases Final Candidate List, RLM Announces Four Names

The BJP completes its candidate declaration for 101 seats under the NDA, while Rashtriya Lok Morcha names four candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Patna, Oct 16: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released its third and final list of 18 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, completing its share of 101 seats under the NDA seat-sharing arrangement.

Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) announced its first list of four candidates. According to the list, Madhav Anand will contest from Madhubani, Prashant Kumar Pankaj from Ujiarpur, Snehlata  wife of party chief Upendra Kushwaha   from Sasaram, and Alok Kumar Singh from Dinara. The RLM has been allotted six seats under the alliance.

The BJP had previously released two candidate lists   the first with 71 names on Tuesday and a second list of 12 candidates on Wednesday. This final announcement completes the party’s candidate declaration for all 101 constituencies it will contest in Bihar.

The second list included prominent figures such as folk singer Maithili Thakur and retired IPS officer Anand Mishra, both seen as strong candidates capable of attracting key voter bases in their regions.

The Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) [LJP (RV)] released its first list of 14 candidates on Wednesday. The party, allotted 29 seats under the NDA, is expected to announce the remaining candidates soon. Notable names include Raju Tiwari from Govindganj, Hulas Pandey from Brahmapur, and Chirag Paswan’s nephew Seemant Mrinal from Garkha (SC).

Under the NDA seat-sharing formula, the JD(U) and BJP are contesting 101 seats each, while LJP (RV) fights on 29. HAM and RLM have six seats each. Minor friction remains as HAM chief Jitan Ram Manjhi announced contests from Makhdumpur and Bodh Gaya — both allotted to LJP (RV). Discussions are ongoing over constituencies like Mahua and Chakai.

RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday, assuring that any disputes within the NDA will be resolved amicably.

The first phase of Bihar Assembly elections is scheduled for November 6, followed by the second phase on November 11, with vote counting on November 14.
