Bihar Minister Says Rohini Acharya’s Tweet a ‘Family Matter’ for Lalu-Rabri to Resolve
Dilip Jaiswal emphasizes internal family disputes shouldn’t be politicized amid Rohini Acharya’s tweet on women’s rights and parental accountability.
Patna, Dec 14: Bihar minister Dilip Jaiswal on Saturday termed the grievances expressed by Rohini Acharya, estranged daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, as a personal family matter to be resolved within the Yadav household. He urged that political or governmental bodies should not intervene.
“This is primarily a matter concerning Lalu Yadav’s family. Rohini Acharya should first approach Lalu and Rabri (Devi) for resolution. Parents are the first recourse for any grievances, and public officials, including the Chief Minister, cannot intervene in such personal matters,” Jaiswal said. He emphasized that while social issues require attention, internal family disputes cannot be politicized.
Rohini Acharya’s post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday reignited discussions around a possible rift within the Yadav family. While not naming anyone directly, her message highlighted systemic issues in women’s empowerment, including patriarchal attitudes and inadequate symbolic welfare measures. She wrote that handing out financial aid or bicycles is insufficient without addressing deep-rooted social inequities and ensuring daughters’ safety and rights within their parental homes.
Her statements, focusing on women’s rights and social reform, sparked political attention due to her connection to one of Bihar’s most prominent political families. Jaiswal reiterated that such matters should remain within the family, reflecting a broader principle that governance should not interfere in private disputes.
