‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ by Mari Selvaraj Receives U/A Certificate, Release Date Announced

Chennai, Oct 9: Director Mari Selvaraj’s highly anticipated sports drama ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, starring Dhruv Vikram in the lead role, is scheduled to hit theatres on October 17, 2025.
Mari Selvaraj shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Kaalamaadan is limitless and he is set to meet everyone on Oct 17th!! Censored U/A!! #BisonKaalamaadan! 9 more days to go!!”
Produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Studios, the film has generated significant buzz since its first look was unveiled in March. Dhruv Vikram, son of veteran actor Vikram, plays a kabaddi player, undergoing rigorous physical and emotional training for the role. Anupama Parameswaran stars as the female lead, with supporting performances by Lal, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhanand, and Kalaiyarasan.
Described as inspired by true events, ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ tells a tale of resilience and triumph against all odds. Dhruv Vikram previously reflected on the journey, saying, “After years of preparation, several months of filming, shedding blood, sweat, and tears, it’s finally a wrap on ‘BISON’. The film’s intense sports sequences have been captured by cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K, while Sakthi Thiru handles editing. The project is jointly produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Saigal, Pa Ranjith, and Aditi Anand.
