BJP Alliance Confident of Historic Victory in Assam Elections

Guwahati, Mar 23: As the nomination process concluded for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed strong optimism about the prospects of the BJP-led alliance, forecasting an unprecedented electoral outcome.

Speaking during the nomination filing of AGP working president Keshab Mahanta in Nagaon, Sarma refrained from giving specific seat projections but asserted that the results would surpass expectations. He underlined the cohesion within the BJP-AGP alliance, pointing to the joint participation of key leaders in the nomination process as a sign of collective strength.

Reiterating support for alliance candidates, the Chief Minister said the partnership between BJP and AGP would ensure decisive victories across constituencies. He also attended AGP president Atul Bora’s nomination in Bokakhat, where he announced a major commitment towards education, assuring that the government would bear expenses from school to university level.

Atul Bora echoed similar confidence, citing backing from regional organisations and affirming that the coalition was progressing under strong leadership. Meanwhile, BJP candidate Ranoj Pegu, contesting from Dhemaji, began his nomination day with prayers and emphasized the importance of securing another term, calling it crucial for both the state and the nation.

Highlighting achievements, Pegu said the government had driven significant development, resolved longstanding issues linked to identity-based movements, and fostered unity among communities. He also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Dhemaji on April 1 for a major campaign event covering several constituencies.

Senior BJP leaders have intensified campaigning across Assam, with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other party figures participating in nomination filings and outreach efforts in multiple districts.
