BJP fulfills aspirations of Jammu People by honoring Maharaja Hari Singh’s Legacy with Public Holiday
JAMMU, Sep 23: Senior BJP leader and contesting candidate from Jammu West constituency, Arvind Gupta proudly announced today that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fulfilled the long-standing aspirations of the people of Jammu by declaring a public holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. This decision, which resonates with the sentiments of the Dogra community, was met with widespread celebration throughout the region. The declaration of a public holiday is seen not only as a tribute to the Dogra ruler’s legacy but also as a testament to BJP’s commitment to recognizing the history and culture of Jammu.
While intensifying his election campaign including several Wards 24, 26, 40, 41 and in a Panchayat Ward No 32 across the Jammu West constituency, Arvind Gupta said, “Today marks a momentous occasion for Jammu, as we celebrate a victory that has been long overdue. The BJP is the party that has ensured the recognition of Maharaja Hari Singh’s contributions to the region, and this public holiday is a reflection of our dedication to preserving the identity and pride of Jammu.”
Arvind Gupta further emphasized the historical significance of Maharaja Hari Singh, calling him a visionary ruler who played a crucial role in shaping the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir. He underscored the Maharaja’s progressive reforms, his emphasis on education, and his commitment to ensuring justice and equality for all his subjects. “By declaring this public holiday, the BJP has ensured that Maharaja Hari Singh’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations, reminding them of their rich cultural heritage,” he added.
The senior BJP leader targeted the National Conference (NC) and Congress, accusing these parties of engaging in divisive politics and pointed out that it was under their rule that Maharaja Hari Singh was exiled from Jammu. He further alleged that the alliance between these parties seeks to return Jammu to an era of corruption, injustice, and neglect, which characterized their previous regimes.
Highlighting a controversial move, Arvind Gupta warned the public about the opposition’s agenda to rename the sacred Shankaracharya Hill as ‘Takht-e-Suleiman,’ signaling a shift away from the region’s historical and cultural identity. He urged the people of Jammu to reject these divisive tactics and instead rally behind the BJP, which he described as the only party that truly understands and respects the aspirations of Jammu’s people.
Arvind Gupta called on the people of West Constituency to vote in his favour in the upcoming elections for the sake of their children’s future. “It is time to stand with a party that not only honors your heritage but also works relentlessly for your progress,” he said, assuring that the BJP would continue to prioritize the development and welfare of the people of Jammu.
