Jammu, 22 March 2026: J&K BJP President and MP (Rajya Sabha) Sat Sharma CA, along with General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, Deputy Leaders of Opposition in J&K Assembly Surjit Singh Salathia, and Pawan Gupta, held a crucial meeting of party MLAs at the its headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The meeting was attended by party MLAs, General Secretaries, and other senior leaders, who deliberated extensively on the prevailing socio-political situation in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as key public issues that need to be effectively raised in the Assembly.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma emphasized the responsibility of BJP legislators to act as strong representatives of public aspirations. He said, that the BJP MLAs must remain proactive in highlighting the genuine concerns of the people in Assembly. He stressed that the current socio-political situation in Jammu & Kashmir demands a vigilant and committed approach from our representatives. He asked the MLAs to forcefully expose any anti-people stance of the government and ensure accountability at every level. He added that at the same time, MLAs should ask the NC-led government to commit itself fully to public welfare policies without any regional bias, ensuring equal development and justice for both regions and all sections of society. He added that the BJP will continue to play the role of a constructive yet firm opposition, ensuring that the government does not deviate from pro-people policies and remains sensitive to the needs of every region of Jammu & Kashmir.
Ashok Koul, in his address, stressed the importance of coordinated efforts and organizational discipline among party legislators. He said that the party MLAs must work in close coordination with the party organization to effectively raise public issues. He said that the concerns of common people, especially related to development, governance, and basic amenities, should be strongly highlighted in the Assembly. He also prompted the MLAs to share the of party’s Prashikshan camps in their constituencies.
SS Salathia, and Pawan Gupta led the party MLAs to share their viewpoints, feedback, and concerns regarding issues faced by the people across different regions. They also discussed strategies to ensure that the voice of the public is strongly represented on the floor of the Assembly.
