JAMMU,10-10-2023 : The recent results of Kargil election, held for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, have exposed the dissatisfaction of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the decisions of the Modi government, contrary to the promises made to the nation.
This statement was stated by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena (UBT), Jammu and Kashmir while talking to media persons here today.
Shiv Sena (UBT) activists today joined a joint protest organized by opposition parties in Jammu, emphasizing the need to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir, revive democratic processes, and address the people’s grievances.
In his address, Sahni criticized the apathy of the government towards critical issues such as the restoration of statehood, the revival of democratic processes, and the general concerns of the public. He stated that 80% of Jammu and Kashmir’s population is disillusioned with the decisions of both the state administration and the central government.
To prove their confidence in their rule, Sahni challenged the government to hold elections at any level as part of a referendum, claiming that the BJP’s fate in Kargil is a telling sign. He noted that every segment of Jammu and Kashmir society is uniting to teach BJP a lesson. He emphasized that winds of change are sweeping through the region.
Sahni further criticized the BJP for exploiting Article 370 for electoral gains across the country while shying away from facing voters in Jammu and Kashmir. It is evident that the BJP is avoiding elections in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Jammu region, he added. On this occasion Meenakshi Chibber, Vikas Bakshi, Sanjeev Kohli, Raj Singh , Shashipal, Geeta ,Rajesh Handa , Dimple and many others shiv saniks were present.
