Jammu, 18 January 2026: BJP Jammu and Kashmir, under the leadership of General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, held an important review meeting to finalize preparations for the week-long programmes to be organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidass Ji.
The meeting was organized by the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha, led by its President Dharminder Kumar, at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. It witnessed the active participation of the state leadership and representatives from all districts, reflecting the party’s seriousness and commitment towards making the celebrations meaningful and impactful.
J&K BJP Vice President and SC Morcha Prabhari Bharat Bhushan, party Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, SC Morcha Seh Prabhari Jagdish Bhagat, Morcha state office bearers, District Presidents, district teams, Convenors, Co-Convenors, and their respective team members participated in the meeting. The programmes to mark Guru Ravidass Jayanti will be observed across the Union Territory from January 31 to February 7 with great enthusiasm, devotion, and mass participation.
The objective of the meeting was to ensure coordinated planning and effective execution of all scheduled activities at every level, so that the teachings of Guru Ravidass Ji reach the grassroots.
Addressing the gathering, Baldev Singh Billawaria reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Bharatiya Janata Party towards the upliftment, empowerment, and dignity of Scheduled Castes. He said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP-led government has taken historic steps for the welfare of marginalized sections and urged party workers to take these achievements and the message of inclusive development to the masses during the celebrations.
Bharat Bhushan emphasized that the Guru Ravidass Jayanti programmes should be conducted with discipline, dedication, and devotion. He said that such events strengthen social unity and provide an opportunity to connect the party’s ideology with the timeless teachings of great saints who stood for equality and justice.
Balbir Ram Rattan spoke on the contemporary relevance of Guru Ravidass Ji’s philosophy and highlighted the role of the BJP in preserving, honoring, and promoting the legacy of great social reformers who worked for an egalitarian society.
In his welcome address, Dharminder Kumar shared detailed information about the planned activities during the week-long celebrations. He underlined that Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings of equality, social harmony, and human dignity continue to inspire generations and called upon Morcha members to actively engage with the people and spread the message of social justice, brotherhood, and inclusive development as envisioned by Guru Ravidass Ji and upheld by the BJP.
Jagdish Bhagat said that the life and teachings of Guru Ravidass Ji serve as a guiding light for building a just and harmonious society and appealed to Morcha members to work selflessly for social unity.
Morcha General Secretary Seema Devi presented the vote of thanks, while the proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Morcha General Secretaries Rahul Hans and Mohinder Bhagat.
