BJP Unveils 13 Additional Candidates for West Bengal Assembly Elections

New nominees named for key constituencies as election dates draw closer

New Delhi, Mar 31 : In Bharatiya Janata Party’s latest move ahead of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, the party on Tuesday declared 13 additional candidates for the upcoming polls. Among the prominent names, Soma Thakur has been fielded from Bagda constituency.

The newly released list also features Shyamal Hati from Howrah Dakshin, Girija Shankar Roy from Natabari, and Ashutosh Barma from Sitai. Other candidates include Uttam Kumar Banik from Magrahat Purba, Debangshu Panda from Falta, Debashish Dhar from Sonarpur Uttar, and Ranjan Kumar Paul from Panchla.

Polling for the 294-seat assembly is scheduled to take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, while the counting of votes will be conducted on May 4.
