BJP’s atrocious governance reminds of British rule in India: Tony, Kundal

Urges LG to hold direct talks with protesters

SAMBA, AUG 25: Taranjit Singh Tony, Congress leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Govt of resorting to atrocious governance multiplying the miseries of the common people. He lamented that the incumbent government reminds of the British Rule in which the people were deprived of all the rights and freedoms and were literally enslaved by the Britishers.

He expressed this while addressing a gathering after joining the hunger strike started by the people in district Samba demanding abolishing of the Toll Plaza at Sarore. Accompanied by the Congress leader and former minister Yashpal Kundal and youth leader Mandeep Choudhary at the Dharna site in Samba, Tony extended full support on behalf of the Party to the cause and those sitting on hunger strike.

Speaking on the occasion, Tony expressed full solidarity with the Yuva Rajput Sabha and others participating in the protest for abolishing the Toll Plaza at Sarore. He condemned the Union Territory Administration for the alleged mishandling of peaceful protesters and the police action at the site of occurrence reminds of British rule. He said that the Saffron party has re-enacted the British Rule by enslaving the common people. He asserted that it is the people who will teach BJP a lesson by rooting it out from the country sooner than later.

Expressing solidarity with protesting people and Dogra youth of Gurha Salathia, Tony said Congress party stands shoulder to shoulder with them till their demand is met.

Tony made a fervent appeal to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene into the matter and hold talks directly with the people instead of sending bureaucrats as this would leave no scope for unnecessary confrontation on the issue.

Yashpal Kundal said people are watching every move of BJP leaders who are maintaining criminal silence on this sensitive issue. He said not a single BJP leader has come out to support this genuine and justified demand of the people. He said people will give befitting reply in the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
