Jammu:30-06-2023: Bhartiya Kala Sangam held street play and captivated audiences with thought-provoking street play titled “Say no to drugs.” The play aims to create awareness about the perils of drug addiction in a unique and humorous manner.
On this occasion, President of BKS, Vaishno Rani, full fledged Incharge of Club, Chairman BKS, T. R. Sharma, Romesh Singh Chib, Director BKS, faculty of MAM College, students and other prominent audience were present.
While addressing the audience, T. R. Sharma said that Drug addiction is an ever-growing issue that affects individuals and communities worldwide. He further said that recognizing the need to address this critical concern, the faculty of MAM College Jammu collaborated with renowned playwrights and actors to develop a powerful theatrical production that combined humor and social messaging. Second show of this show was organised in Rajiv Nagar jammu,he added.
“Say no to drugs'”, the witty street play showcased the consequences of drug abuse, he said, emphasizing the potential destruction it can wreak on one’s physical health, relationships, and overall well-being of drug addicts.
“We believe that theater has the power to create social change,” said Avinash Lakhnotra, the Director of the play. “By approaching such a serious topic with humor, we aim to engage and educate the audience in a more effective and relatable manner, he added.
The play was written by Vinay Sharma and was settled according to modern punchlines and relatable dialogues.
The cast of the play were Avinash Lakhnotra, Ajay Tamang, Amrita Kaur, Kartavya singh Jamwal, Manik Sharma, Nitesh verma, Vinay sharma and Yogeshwar singh Jamwal.
The play was performed under the management of Sh. Ramesh Singh, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam, who presented vote of thanks in the end.
