Bollywood reshuffles release calendar as big-banner films avoid box office clash

Ajay Devgn postpones ‘Dhamaal 4’ for smoother theatrical run

Mumbai, May 18 : Bollywood studios continued reshaping their release strategies this weekend as producers focused on maximising theatrical collections in an increasingly competitive market.

According to entertainment reports, actor Ajay Devgn decided to postpone the release of comedy franchise film “Dhamaal 4” to avoid a direct clash with Akshay Kumar starrer “Welcome To The Jungle.”

Trade analysts described the move as a rare example of strategic coordination between major Bollywood production houses. Both films target family audiences and rely heavily on ensemble comedy, making a simultaneous release potentially risky for box office collections.

Industry insiders believe studios are becoming more cautious following fluctuating theatrical revenues and the growing impact of streaming platforms on audience behaviour.

Meanwhile, several other films and streaming releases are also generating attention across the entertainment industry. Romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein recently premiered on Netflix after its theatrical run earlier this year, drawing praise for its emotional storytelling and visual presentation.

The soundtrack album of action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge has also gained popularity among listeners, with music labels increasingly investing in large-scale promotional campaigns before film releases.

Entertainment analysts say the Hindi film industry is now relying on carefully planned release windows, stronger music marketing and digital partnerships to ensure profitability in a rapidly evolving market.
