Holds Public meeting at border village
RS PURA, January 7: In order to establish better relations between the public and the police, a police-public meet was organized in the border village Haripur on Saturday, in which SP Headquarters Ramneesh Gupta chaired the meeting.
SDPO RS Pura Surendra Singh, Pawan Kumar Dogra, Sarpanch of various panchayats and members of village security committee also participated in this meeting.
During this meeting organized under the chairmanship of senior BJP leader Anand Kalia, Sarpanch Surjit Chaudhary gave detailed information to the officers of the Police Department about the problems of the area and said that after the terrorist attack in district Rajori, people living in the border areas. The people demanded that the Village Security Committees formed at the village level should be strengthened so that any kind of incident can be stopped.
SP Ramneesh Gupta said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is constantly working against terrorism and has stopped the nefarious activities of the neighboring country. Apart from this, a continuous campaign is being run by the police against drugs and smugglers have been arrested. He said that whatever decision will be taken by the government to strengthen the Village Security Committee, it will be fully implemented in the border areas! He appealed to the people to immediately inform the police department if they see any suspicious in the border areas.
Sarpanch Gurdeep Singh Saini assured the Police Department that the Panchayat representatives have been fully cooperating with the Police Department and will continue to do so in the future. He also strongly condemned the barbaric act of terrorism, perpetrated by Pakistan in Dangri area of Rajouri district, taking six precious human lives including two minor children. He demanded that the Village Defence Committees (VDCs) should be strengthened by giving weapons to people residing in border areas for their safety.
On the occasion, Sarpanch Darshan Chowdhary, social worker Manmohan Chowdhary, Panch Praveen Singh and senior BJP leader Vikram Sharma were present.
