British Airways London-Hyderabad Flight Receives Bomb Threat, Lands Safely
Authorities implement full safety protocols as passengers disembark; flight resumes journey to London
Hyderabad, Dec 23: A Hyderabad bound British Airways flight from London received a bomb threat, prompting airport authorities to implement standard safety measures upon its arrival at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, officials said on Tuesday.
The Hyderabad airport’s customer support service received an email on Monday warning of a bomb threat to British Airways flight BA 277, operating from Heathrow to Hyderabad. “The flight landed safely, and standard safety protocols were immediately activated. The aircraft has since departed for Heathrow,” airport sources told PTI.
Authorities followed established safety measures, including isolating the aircraft, screening passengers and baggage, deploying sniffer dogs, and keeping fire engines on standby to ensure no risks were posed to passengers or airport operations.
This incident is part of a recent spate of bomb threat emails targeting flights to Hyderabad. Earlier this month, Indigo flights from Madina and Sharjah to Hyderabad received similar threats, with one flight diverted to Ahmedabad Airport as a precaution.
