Pakistani National Repatriated After Accidental Border Crossing in Jammu
Jammu, Sep 27: A Pakistani national was safely returned across the International Border after inadvertently crossing into Indian territory near Jammu, officials said on Saturday.
Mohd Akram, a resident of Pakistan, was apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) from the R S Pura sector on September 25. Authorities confirmed that no suspicious or incriminating items were found in his possession. During questioning, Akram stated that he had crossed the border unintentionally.
Following protocol, the BSF coordinated with their Pakistani counterparts and handed over Akram to the Chenab Rangers at a flag meeting along the International Border in R S Pura late Friday, completing all formalities.
Officials emphasized that the matter was resolved peacefully, underscoring the routine cooperation between the border forces of both countries.
