CBK Conducts Raids at Multiple Locations in Central Kashmir
Crime Branch Kashmir executes coordinated searches in Srinagar and Budgam, seizes incriminating documents.
Srinagar, Sep 27: The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) carried out coordinated raids at multiple locations in Srinagar and Budgam on Saturday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into a cheating and forgery case.
Official sources stated that the searches are linked to FIR No. 05/2025, registered under sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (using forged documents as genuine) of the Indian Penal Code.
The CBK teams conducted searches across Bemina, Saddar, Karan Nagar, and Kralkhud police station areas in Srinagar, along with several locations in Budgam district. Multiple premises associated with the suspects were searched, and incriminating documents and other materials were seized for further examination.
“The operation was conducted after obtaining due warrants from the competent court and aims to uncover the full extent of the fraud,” officials said. Sources added that searches are ongoing at several other locations.
