18-05-2022 : The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu on Wednesday condemned unabated killings of minorities in Kashmir Valley and demanded adequate security to ensure that no more life falls prey to terrorism in the Union Territory.
In this context, an emergent meeting of Jammu Chamber was held here under the chairmanship of Arun Gupta, President CCI Jammu.
Arun Gupta said that the situation in Kashmir has turned grim with terrorists carrying out soft killings at their will with miniscule minorities becoming the first target of these violence mongers. He said that grenade attack on a wine shop in Baramulla killing a Hindu youth from Rajouri and three others from Jammu province is testimony to the fact that minority community is not safe in the Valley as terrorists are targeting the vulnerable community because recently a Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat was also targeted in broad day light.
Jammu Chamber demanded that the government should brace-up the security grid and also make beat policing robust to ensure that no civilian, especially the minority community member, remains at risk. He said that the situation right now is grim as every now and then terrorists are carrying out terror strikes killing the soft targets with police and other security forces proving out to be defunct in stopping this vicious cycle of violence and killings.
Gupta said that the killing spree in the Valley will have serious repercussions in the entire UT of J&K which is still struggling to come out of recession after the colossal losses that it incurred due to pandemic COVID-19. He said that the government should come up with a foolproof security strategy to ensure the safety of all, especially the minority Hindu community in the Valley.
Expressing serious concern, CCI President said that the government cannot allow such targeted killings to go on unabated, therefore the need of the time is to immediately put an end to this dangerous trend and rejuvenate the lost faith of the people in the security edifice to restore peace once again.
Among those who were present include Anil Gupta, Sr. Vice President CCI, Sh. Rajeev Gupta, Jr.Vice President CCI, Sh. Gaurav Gupta, Secretary General CCI, Rajesh Gupta, Secretary CCI and Rajesh Gupta, Treasurer CCI.
