Centre Pushes Digital Classrooms to Bridge Urban Rural Learning Gap

New initiatives aim to expand smart education access in remote and underserved regions

New Delhi: The Union government has accelerated efforts to strengthen digital learning infrastructure across rural and semi-urban regions, aiming to reduce disparities in access to quality education.

Officials from the Ministry of Education stated that several schools in remote areas are being equipped with smart classrooms, high-speed internet, and digital teaching tools under ongoing national programmes. The initiative is designed to support interactive learning and improve student engagement.

Special emphasis is being placed on teacher training to ensure effective use of technology in classrooms. Authorities noted that digital literacy among educators is key to the success of these reforms.

The programme also includes partnerships with edtech platforms to provide free or subsidized access to study materials and virtual classes.

Education experts believe the move will significantly enhance learning outcomes, especially in regions where access to qualified teachers and physical resources remains limited.
