Centre Reviews Border Security Preparedness After Fresh Intelligence Inputs

High-level meetings held in New Delhi as security agencies intensify monitoring across sensitive border sectors.

New Delhi, May 17 : The Union Government conducted an extensive review of India’s border security arrangements following fresh intelligence inputs related to cross border activities in northern sectors. Senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, defence agencies and intelligence departments participated in the high-level security assessment held in New Delhi on May 16.

According to officials, surveillance systems along sensitive stretches have been upgraded while additional personnel have been deployed in strategic areas. The review focused on strengthening coordination between intelligence-sharing agencies and state police units.

Authorities also discussed the use of advanced drones, AI-based monitoring systems and satellite surveillance to improve response time during emergencies. Security forces have reportedly increased night patrols and electronic monitoring across vulnerable regions.

The meeting comes amid continued geopolitical tensions in South Asia and rising concerns regarding infiltration attempts. Officials reiterated that India remains fully prepared to deal with any security challenge while maintaining regional stability.
