Chenab River Crisis: Rakesh Koul Social Activist Assesses Damage, Commends Swift District Administration Response

Pargwal and Jourian/Jammu, 08-07-2024: Rakesh Koul, Ex-Sarpanch and Senior Vice President of the JKNPF, recently visited several flood-affected villages situated along the Chenab River. The river, having risen above the danger mark, has wreaked havoc on agricultural lands on both sides, causing significant distress to the local farming communities.

During his visit to the villages of Indri Patan and Fathi Kotli in the Pargwal and Jourian areas, Rakesh Koul was able to witness firsthand the extensive damage to crops and land. The once lush and productive fields now lay in ruin, submerged under water, highlighting the severity of the flood’s impact on the agrarian livelihoods of these communities.
