Chief Justice Arun Palli presents Chhibber Memorial Trust-Press Club Journalism Awards in Jammu
Amir Tantray, Ajay Meenia and Vinod Kumar honoured with prestigious journalism awards
Jammu, 23-04-2026: Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Arun Palli, on Wednesday presented the Prof R.K. Chhibber Memorial Trust-Press Club of Jammu Journalism Awards to three senior media professionals at a function held in Jammu, recognising their contribution and commitment to the profession. The awardees included TV Bharat Senior Correspondent Amir Tantray, Dainik Jagran Deputy Chief Reporter and Bureau Chief Ajay Meenia, and Gulistan News Consultant Editor Vinod Kumar.
Each of the award winners was honoured with a cheque of Rs 25,000 and a memento during the ceremony jointly organised by the Prof R.K. Chhibber Memorial Trust and the Press Club of Jammu. The event marked yet another significant occasion in acknowledging the role of journalists in informing the public and strengthening democratic discourse through dedicated reporting and editorial work.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice Arun Palli congratulated the awardees for their professional achievements and appreciated the efforts of the Prof R.K. Chhibber Memorial Trust and the Press Club of Jammu for instituting and sustaining the journalism awards. He commended the initiative as an important step towards recognising the hard work, persistence and public service rendered by journalists in challenging and demanding circumstances.
Press Club of Jammu president Sanjeev Pargal welcomed the Chief Justice, office bearers of the trust and other members to the club. During his interaction with the Chief Justice, Pargal described as bold and unprecedented the decision taken by the High Court Collegium of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh under the leadership of Justice Arun Palli to fill 11 vacancies in the High Court while ensuring representation to all regions as well as women.
The award ceremony was marked by a spirit of appreciation for journalistic excellence and institutional support for the media fraternity. By honouring journalists from different news platforms, the function highlighted the continuing relevance of credible reporting and editorial integrity in public life, while also underlining the importance of recognising those who contribute meaningfully to the field of journalism.
