Clashes Intensify in Zehri: BRAS Claims Heavy Pakistani Casualties, Vows Continued Baloch Liberation Efforts

Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) underscores resilience and coordination among resistance fronts amid ongoing military operations in Balochistan

Pakistan, Oct 22 : Fierce clashes erupted in the Zehri area of Khuzdar after the Pakistani army launched an aggressive advance into territories held by the Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), a coalition of Baloch armed groups. According to BRAS spokesperson Baloch Khan, dozens of Pakistani soldiers were killed during the confrontation, while six BRAS fighters lost their lives.

The spokesperson described the skirmish as part of the continuing Baloch resistance movement, stating that the struggle has grown “more organised and coherent” despite sustained military pressure. “The blood of Zehri’s fighters is another milestone in the struggle for Baloch national liberation. It is giving this movement a new direction, a new impetus, and a new history,” the statement read.

BRAS reaffirmed its unity among all Baloch resistance fronts, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Baloch Republican Guard (BRG), and Sindhu Desh Revolutionary Army (SDRA). Baloch Khan emphasised that the coalition’s coordination extends beyond military operations to political and organisational collaboration. “The BRAS Ittehad is a symbol of the collective unity of the Baloch nation, which will remain permanent despite all conspiracies of the enemy,” he said.

Balochistan has long been a focal point for human rights concerns, with recurring cycles of violence linked to separatist movements, a strong military presence, and enforced disappearances. Human rights organisations have consistently accused Pakistani authorities of abducting civilians without due process to suppress dissent and intimidate local communities. Despite repeated denials from Pakistan, civil society continues to highlight systemic violations targeting students, political activists, and residents in the region.
