CM Bhajanlal Sharma Hails Achievements of Pravasi Rajasthanis as Inspiration for Future Generations

CM Sharma invites global Rajasthanis to participate in Pravasi Rajasthani Divas 2025 in Jaipur; urges investment in state’s growth sectors including textiles, tourism, and renewable energy.

Jaipur, Oct 29: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma lauded the contributions of Pravasi Rajasthanis, stating that their achievements continue to inspire the state’s youth and future generations. Speaking at the Pravasi Rajasthani Meet in Kolkata on Tuesday, Sharma highlighted the community’s success in preserving Rajasthani culture while contributing significantly to the economic development of West Bengal and beyond.

The Chief Minister announced that the state government will host Pravasi Rajasthani Divas in Jaipur on December 10, 2025, to strengthen ties between the Karmabhoomi and Janmabhoomi of Rajasthanis living across the world. “This platform will celebrate the achievements of our global community and deepen their connection with their roots,” he said, inviting all Pravasi Rajasthanis to participate.

Rajasthan’s Rising Economic Strength

Sharma said Rajasthan’s investor-friendly environment has spurred steady growth in industry, trade, and infrastructure. He encouraged overseas Rajasthanis to invest in education, healthcare, tourism, textiles, and renewable energy, emphasizing that the state’s development vision Developed Rajasthan 2047 depends on global partnerships.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Rajasthan has become India’s leading textile hub, housing over 1,500 factories and leading in the production of polyester viscose yarn, cotton, and wool. He said, “Our new Textile and Apparel Policy promotes innovation and job creation.”

He also pointed out that Rajasthan possesses 85 mineral varieties and remains the country’s top producer of zinc, lead, silver, marble, and sandstone. The Rajasthan Mineral Policy 2024 and M-Sand Policy 2024 are accelerating mineral block auctions and sustainable mining.

Rajasthan Leads India in Solar Power

“Rajasthan ranks first in India for solar energy with an installed capacity of 34,555 MW,” Sharma noted. He added that land allotments for 17 GW renewable projects reflect the state’s leadership in sustainable energy. The upcoming HPCL refinery and Rajasthan Petro Zone will also boost the petrochemical and hydrocarbon sectors.

Tourism: A Key Economic Pillar

Calling tourism the lifeline of Rajasthan’s economy, the Chief Minister said around 23 million tourists are expected to visit the state in 2024. The tourism and hospitality sector has been granted industry status, and the minimum investment requirement for land allocation has been reduced from ₹100 crore to ₹50 crore. The state is also developing a Dharmik-Paryatan Circuit, linking pilgrimage sites like Khatu Shyamji, Nathdwara, Pushkar, and Mount Abu.

Record Investments and Business-Friendly Policies

Highlighting the outcomes of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, Sharma said investment agreements worth ₹35 lakh crore were signed, with foundation stones laid for projects worth ₹7 lakh crore. Over 22 new policies have been implemented to promote business and innovation, while 12 more, including the Semiconductor Policy and Space & Aero Defense Policy, are in progress.

Under the RIPS 2024 and RIICO Direct Land Allotment Policy, investors are being offered attractive incentives and direct industrial land at reserved rates. Over 1,200 investors have already benefited, Sharma said.

Encouraging Global Participation

Minister of State for Urban Development Jhabar Singh Kharra added that the government is emphasizing sustainable housing through the Township Policy, enabling greater NRI involvement in Rajasthan’s growth.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister honoured Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) for their contributions in social service and released a coffee table book of the Rajasthan Foundation.

Prominent dignitaries including Prem Singh Bajor, Chairman, Sainik Welfare Board, Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary (Industries), and Shashwat Goenka, CII Eastern Region Chairman, attended the event.
