Vijayawada, Feb 13 : Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed senior officials to fast-track detailed proposals for projects announced in the Union Budget 2026–27, placing the proposed Rare Earth Corridor at the centre of Andhra Pradesh’s development strategy.
During a review meeting at his camp office, the Chief Minister asked departments to ensure full utilisation of funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes so the state remains eligible for additional grants. He also urged officials to align state proposals with central initiatives and leverage the newly introduced “challenge mode” funding model to attract higher allocations.
Naidu emphasised the need for long-term planning to strengthen the state’s position in upcoming Union budgets.
Rare Earth Corridor takes priority
The planned corridor spanning Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam districts was highlighted as a strategic project aimed at boosting mineral-based industries and strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem.
Industrial and sectoral hubs proposed
The Chief Minister outlined multiple priority initiatives designed to accelerate manufacturing and value-chain development. These include the East Coast Industrial Corridor stretching from Mulapeta to Krishnapatnam, alongside container and equipment manufacturing clusters.
Additional proposals feature a Mega Textile Park in Palnadu, a sports manufacturing hub in Tirupati, and electronics component production facilities in Hindupur—moves intended to diversify the state’s industrial base.
Amaravati projects and health ecosystem
In Amaravati, Naidu proposed semiconductor design initiatives under India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and a comprehensive Health City ecosystem integrating bio-design, a MedTech Park, and the Bio-Pharma Shakti Mission. He also pointed to strong potential for medical tourism through the “Heal in AP” policy framework.
Transport push with electric buses
On infrastructure, the Chief Minister stressed efficient deployment of the 1,000 electric buses sanctioned by the Centre and called for advance planning to secure additional approvals in the future.
The review reflects the state government’s broader effort to combine industrial expansion, healthcare innovation, and sustainable transport while positioning Andhra Pradesh to capture maximum central investment.
