CM Directs Strict Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Festive Disruptions

Zero-Tolerance Policy for Anti-Social Activities Emphasized

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday issued a firm directive to officials to maintain law and order during the upcoming festive season, warning that any attempt to disrupt public peace would be dealt with under the government’s “zero tolerance” policy.

Chairing a high-level review meeting via video conferencing, the CM stressed that festivals should remain rooted in tradition and that communal harmony, public safety, and law enforcement must be prioritized at all times.

Officials, including divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officers, were instructed to coordinate closely to ensure a secure environment across the state. “Large gatherings are expected at temples during Navratri. Authorities must ensure proper arrangements for security, sanitation, crowd management, drinking water, lighting, and healthcare services. Extra vigilance has been ordered at major religious sites and crowded locations,” Yogi said.

Taking note of criminal activities such as chain snatching, the CM directed increased patrolling and visible police presence to deter offenders. “Lawbreakers must think twice before committing a crime,” he added.

The chief minister also emphasized strict adherence to Supreme Court guidelines on loudspeakers at religious places, calling for immediate action against any violations. Enforcement against bike stunts and other risky public behaviors was also ordered.

On the supply front, Yogi directed officials to ensure uninterrupted availability of LPG cylinders and warned against hoarding, black marketing, or artificial shortages.

With the proposed visit of the President to Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan, officials were instructed to ensure proper protocol and seamless arrangements. He also reviewed the management of stray cattle shelters, calling for timely fund release, appointment of nodal officers, and adequate fodder supply.

The Director General of Police informed the CM that intensified foot patrolling and security measures were already in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of festivals throughout the state.
