Omar Abdullah surveys Kathua flood damage, assures relief and rehabilitation for affected residents

Jammu, Sept 25: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of flood hit villages in Kathua district, interacting with residents who lost their homes in the recent calamity.

During the visit, Abdullah assessed the extent of damage in Duggain village of Billawar and held discussions with affected families, assuring them of immediate relief and support. He later chaired a meeting with district administration officials, directing them to provide necessary assistance and expedite relief measures for the impacted population.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to visit Mahore in Reasi district to evaluate the destruction caused by flash floods there. Authorities have been instructed to ensure a coordinated response, prioritizing the safety and rehabilitation of residents in the affected areas.

This visit underscores the government’s commitment to timely disaster response and support for communities impacted by natural calamities in Jammu and Kashmir.
