CM Omar Abdullah Extends Praise and Support to Armed Forces on Veterans’ Day

JAMMU, Jan 14: On Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah lauded the unwavering dedication of the armed forces in safeguarding the nation and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to addressing their needs and challenges. His remarks were made during a ceremony organized by the Army at the Tanda Artillery Brigade in the Akhnoor sector near Jammu, marking the ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day celebrations. The event was attended by the Defence Minister and Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan.

In his speech, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by the armed forces, stating, “You have given everything for this nation without ever thinking about yourselves. Your duty has been unwavering, and now it is our responsibility to ensure your well-being and address any challenges you face.”

He emphasized that the government is committed to taking care of the issues affecting the armed forces and will always stand by them. “You have done an incredible service in protecting our borders, and it is now the duty of the Jammu and Kashmir government to support you. If any deficiencies have been overlooked, we will make it our priority to rectify them and ensure that you receive the reservation and financial assistance you deserve,” he assured the veterans.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government would continue to work closely with the armed forces to ensure their problems are mitigated and their sacrifices recognized. He reaffirmed the administration’s pledge to always be available to the armed forces, offering support in any way possible. The event served as a reminder of the critical role played by veterans in securing the nation’s borders and underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to support them in every possible capacity.
