CM Omar Abdullah Holds Cabinet Meet Ahead of J&K Budget Session
Key welfare measures, LG’s upcoming address and budget priorities discussed
Jammu, Jan 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday chaired a cabinet meeting at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly’s budget session, scheduled to commence on February 2 with the address of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
According to a post by the Chief Minister’s Office on X, the cabinet convened to deliberate on “key matters of public and administrative importance.” All decisions taken by the cabinet will come into effect after the Lieutenant Governor’s approval.
The meeting saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary and ministers Sakina Itoo, Javed Ahmed Rana, Javid Ahmed Dar, and Satish Sharma. Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo was also in attendance.
Officials noted that discussions focused on the Lieutenant Governor’s address to the assembly at the start of the budget session and the key welfare initiatives proposed in the upcoming annual budget.
Omar Abdullah, who also holds the finance portfolio, is set to present the second budget of his government during the session.
