CM Omar Promises Expedited Land Allotment for Landless Families Affected by Floods
Assures equitable distribution of relief; says no new policy needed as land to be provided under PMAY model
SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday confirmed that all necessary formalities for allotting land to landless families affected by the recent floods have been completed, assuring that the relief process will be fair and transparent.
Addressing the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Omar said, “There is no need for a fresh policy for flood hit families. As far as the landless are concerned, the paperwork has been finalized, and they will be provided land under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) pattern.”
He further highlighted that a central team, along with the Union Agriculture Minister, had assessed flood related damages in Jammu, determining that the extent of losses matched those suffered by Kashmir in 2014.
“The government has already communicated the details to the Centre, and once the relief package is sanctioned, funds will be distributed without any discrimination,” the Chief Minister added.
