CM Yogi Adityanath Reviews Varanasi Railway Station Preparations Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit
Chief Minister inspects facilities and security arrangements as Prime Minister’s two-day visit approaches, following religious engagements in the temple city
Varanasi, Nov 6: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a detailed inspection of Varanasi Railway Station on Thursday in preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit tomorrow. The review followed the second day of the CM’s religious engagements in the temple city.
During the inspection, senior railway and district officials briefed the Chief Minister on operational and security arrangements. CM Yogi provided guidance to ensure smooth management of the station ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival.
PM Modi is set to arrive in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on the evening of November 7. On November 8, he will inaugurate the Varanasi–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express and three additional trains from Varanasi Railway Station.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Adityanath performed rituals at prominent temples in the city. He began at Baba Kal Bhairav Temple, seeking blessings from Lord Kal Bhairav, regarded as the Kotwal (guardian deity) of Kashi. The CM then visited the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, performing the ‘Shodashopachar’ ritual, praying for the welfare, peace, and prosperity of Uttar Pradesh and the nation. Devotees could be heard chanting “Har Har Mahadev” during the ceremonies.
Later, CM Yogi visited the Satua Baba Ashram at Manikarnika Ghat, offered prayers at the Shiva temple, and received blessings from Mahant Santosh Das Ji Maharaj, the disciple of Satua Baba.
The Chief Minister had arrived in Varanasi on Wednesday evening, inaugurating the Dev Deepawali festival by lighting lamps at Namo Ghat and witnessing the illuminated ghats from a cruise along the Ganga. He described Varanasi as a living symbol of faith, culture, and spirituality, celebrating the city’s spiritual heritage.
