Col. SS Pathania (Rtd.) asks to Appoint Security Advisor from the Army, Device Proactive Strategy To Deal With Militancy In Jammu Region
0Jammu, 4-01-2023: President Sainik Samaj Party, JKUT condemned the cowardly and inhuman killings of innocent civilians including children in the Dongri area of Rajouri. He expressed his anguish and concern about the rapid growth in militant activities centered around the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, though other districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, and Ramban too have been affected in varying degrees.
Pakistan and ISI will continue to evolve new strategies to ensure that the entire UT, burns in the fire of militancy and both regions simultaneously are addressed to put additional load on intelligence and security agencies. They are also adding the dimensions of terror funding and narco-terrorism to make India bleed in thousands of cuts, as per the strategy conceived in OP TOPAC, in the year 1989.
Jehad inspired militancy based on the exploitation of religion is another dimension of this new strategy. Killing of Hindu minority, and making them move out of their homes, by instilling fear, is also a part of the grand strategy in the Jammu region. It is pertinent that a proactive counter strategy is put in place before it is too late. The new chief of the Army, Gen Munir too has to prove his credentials to the army and Pakistan, and it’s likely that he will raise the crescendo of militancy to a new level, as early as possible. He further said that strengthening of intelligence and security grid, area domination, human and electronic intelligence, and enhancement of surveillance grid, aspects must be put into use, to restore the faith of people in the administration.
Continuous improvement in the security grid has to be taken as a journey and not as a destination. Under the present circumstances, it is mandatory to appoint a security advisor from the Army, who understands various nuances and complexities of militancy and renders suitable advice to LT. governor. JKUT having an area of more than 42000 sq kilometers, certainly can’t be managed and governed by one or two advisors.
