Cong to hold protests at all Districts on  March 9, against US  trade deal, surrender of PM Modi

• Ensure safe evacuation of J&K students in Iran, Arab nations—Congress

Jammu, March 7—Announcing the holding of protests in all district Hqs on March 9, the opening day of Parliament, against the anti-farmers, anti-people  US trade deal, JKPCC today questioned the silence and surrender of Prime Minister Narender Modi over the dictations of US President Donald Trump to India, asking him to step down.

Addressing a press conference here today, JKPCC announced the holding of simultaneous protests at all district Hqs on March 9,the opening day of the Parliament session against the one sided US deal and the surrender of PM Modi, seeking his resignation for his failure to stand up to the dictates of US, which is unprecedented in the history of our sovereign country, which never succumbed to the dictates of any superpower in the past.

In a joint Press conference, JKPCC Working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma,  Former Minister & DCC President Jammu Urban Yogesh Sawhney, DCC President Jammu Rural Neeraj kundan and others said that JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra had a two-hour virtual meeting with all DCC presidents of J&K alongwith district Incharge and briefed them about the programmes.

They questioned the weakness of PM Modi to silently accept the terms & conditions of US President against the interests & sovereignty of our country, right from announcements of cease fire to US deal on the unreasonable terms & conditions of the US, imposing huge tax on imports from India and zero percent on exports to India. So much so, US imposed over 187 percent tax on Indian Exports to US on solar energy products.

In the height of things, the US has allowed 30 days exemption to India to buy cheaper fuel from Russia during war situation only ,which is insulting and humiliating for our country and directly against our interests.

Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma questioned, “Does India require permission from US to decide it’s  imports and the country, which are ready to supply cheaper products to our country but we are being forced and dictated to purchase costlier products from US against the intrests of countrymen, “he added.

He questioned the weakness of PM Modi to speak against the open violations of international norms by US & Israel , the way a head of state and Supreme religious leader of Iran was assassinated and another head of state was kidnapped by US .

Iran had been a friend of India and sided with India in difficult times of economic crisis and the machinations of Pakistan on Kashmir against India in UN. He recalled the PM Narasimha Rao dispatched the Foreign Minister Dinesh Singh in 1994 to Iran to defeat a Pakistan move through OIC in UN on Kashmir issue and India succeeded in defeating Pakistan move with the help of Iran and our diplomacy. Our CPP Chairperson Smt Sonia Gandhi and other top leadership expressed solidarity with the grieving people and referred to historical relationship of Iran with our country.

They said that India is getting isolated globally, as was seen during Operation Sindhoor against open attack sponsored by Pakistan on innocent tourists in Pehalgam and now the way Modi government is dealing foreign policy. It is a matter of concern for all countrymen, the manner in which our intrests are being compromised by Modi government.

The Congress expressed deep concern over the safety of countrymen especially students trapped in Iran and other Arab nations, vast majority from J&K and demanded that union government take urgent steps to ensure their safe evacuation. There are distress calls from parents and concerned citizens in this regard.
