Congress Chief Kharge Writes to PM Modi Demanding an Updated Caste Census

17-04-2023 : In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called for an updated caste census. Kharge emphasized the importance of having reliable data for effective social justice and empowerment programs, especially for the OBCs. He highlighted that the absence of an updated caste census renders the database incomplete.
The Congress chief stated that he and his colleagues have previously raised this demand in both Houses of Parliament on multiple occasions, as have other leaders from various opposition parties.
