Congress seeks draft proposal of delimitation commission to be immediately put in public domain.
Addressing a joint press conference newly appointed Working President of JKPCC Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Shri Yogesh Sawhney, and Th. Manmohan Singh lashed out at the administration for total failure to deal with power and water crises in the entire UT. They termed it as the worst ever crisis causing great hardships to all citizens especially aged and ailing people.
Opposing privatization of power, JKPCC leaders termed it against the overall interests of poor consumers in the long run as the common people shall not be able to bear the power tariff. They justified the demands of the agitating employees of the power department and extended full support to them while appealing to them to take care of the sufferings of the common people due to the blackout.
The senior Congress leaders asked the Govt. to immediately resolve the issue and restore power and water supply without any delay.
Referring to the delimitation issue, the Senior Congress leaders demanded that the draft proposals be put to the public domain without any further delay and consider the objections of the people against the draft proposals. He said that BJP has committed to give seat share and reservation to different categories especially POJK refugees, Paharis, Kashmir migrants including STs, and let it fulfill the promises to these people.
Congress would only appreciate a fair and transparent delimitation based on law and laid down norms in this regard. However, they questioned how the BJP leaders are claiming about the proposed report beforehand when nobody else knows about the contents of the report till date. This puts a question mark on the proposed report of the Commission and the Congress would comment only after the final draft is out.
Shri Sahil Sharma PCC Spokesperson and Co-coordinator PCC Social Media and Rajvir Singh Chairman JKPCC Unorganized Workers Congress were also present in the press conference.
