Congress holds solidarity  Candlelight March in Jammu City and all Districts in Jammu Region against terrorism

 

Jammu, April 25: Congress took out an impressive candlelight march today evening in parts of Jammu city and at all district levels to express solidarity with those martyred at Pehalgam and against terrorism.

 As part of a nationwide call from the Congress Party, senior leaders of JKPCC, DCC Jammu Urban, DCC Jammu Rural, frontal organizations, Mahila workers, and a large number of workers took out a candlelight march from Shaheedi Chowk to Raghunath Temple Chowk to express solidarity with the families of those martyred and injured at Pehalgam and against terrorism and Pakistan.

The march started with a prayer meeting outside PCC HQ, Jammu and at the culmination point, Raghunath Temple Chowk, prayed for peace to martyrs and the early recovery of the injured.

Led by Working President JKPCC Shri Tara Chand (former Dy. C.M.), the march was attended by  Thakur Balwan Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan,  Rajnish Sharma, DCC Presidents Jammu Urban & Rural Th. Manmohan Singh & Th. Hari Singh Chib, Th. Balbir Singh, Kanta Bhan, T.S. Tony, Narinder Sharma, Namrata Sharma, Satish Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Zahida Khan, Thomas Khokhar Dwarka Choudhary,  Neeraj Gupta, Vijay Sharma (Seva Dal), Ch. Hussain Ali Baffa (ST), Hira Lal Pandita, Gajan Singh, H.S. Mehta, Sanjeev Panda, Rajiv Saraf, Kapil Singh, Sahil Sharma, Rajvir Singh, Vijay Kumar Shastri, Hoshiar Singh Chib, Michael Wazir, Jatin Raina,  , Bharat Priye, Bhavishya Sudan, Sandeep Dogra,  Ashok Bhagat,  Dr. R.K. Khajuria, Varinder Manhas,  Ricky Dalotra, Pawan Dev Singh, Bodh Raj Sharma, Sohit Sharma, Ranjit Singh Manhas, M.S. Bedi, Raj Kumar Sodi, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Rahul Mehra, Ajay Kumar, Atul Sharma, Chander Shekhar, Nageshwar Sharma, Pradeep Bhalla, Latish Sharma, Nasir Masih, Zahoor Tantery, Mandeep Choudhary,  Anuradha Sharma Prabhu Ji and a large number of people participated.

The  silent march  joined by hundreds of congress activists walked through Residency Road, Denis Gate and culminated at  Raghunath Mandir Chowk where former Dy C.M. and Working President Tara Chand  told reporters that peaceful march  all over the country in all states and districts level  were held  by the congress party as per decision of congress working committee to express solidarity  with the martyrs and to send a strong and united message against terrorism. He said that nation is together at this juncture and our leadership has sent out a message that congress party is with the Govt. and the security forces to deal with the situation. He said that people of all religion,s caste, creed and color have unitedly came out against this gruesome incident.

Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister, said that the Congress party stands in solidarity with the martyrs and their families and united against the fight against terrorism. Our leadership as has categorically conveyed that we are together with the Govt.. and the forces to defeat terrorism. Shri Rahul Gandhi cut short his visit and visited Kashmir today to express solidarity and to enquire about the condition of the injured.

 Th. Manmohan Singh, President of DCC Jammu Urban, said that people of the entire Jammu and Kashmir and in all parts of the country have risen against this heinous crime against humanity and attack on the nation irrespective of caste, creed, color and political affiliations. The entire nation is together to defeat terrorism in the strongest possible manner.

Similar candlelight marches were held in all district-level areas of Jammu Province. At Rajouri march was led by Shri Shabir Ahmed Khan,   At Samba DCC President Sanjeev Sharma; at Kathua, DCC President Pankaj Dogra, at Udhampur DCC President  Vinod Khajuria, at Reasi DCC President  B.S. Jamwal, at Doda Mr. Sheikh Mujeeb, DCC President, at Kishtwar, Mr. Asif Naqeeb and at Ramban  Khalid Wani DCC Vice President, led the march. All the senior leaders of PCC also attended candle marches in their respective districts.
