Congress in Jammu hold strong protest dharna against ED summons to Rahul Gandhi

Jammu, June 13- Hundreds of Congress leaders and activists were arrested by the police in Jammu today as they took out a peaceful protest march after holding a strong protest dharna at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu against ED summon to Shri Rahul Gandhi.

Led by JKPCC Chief G A Mir, accompanied by  Working president Raman Bhalla,  Mula Ram, Ravinder Sharma,  Kanta Bhan, Yogesh sawhney,  Balwan Singh, Manmohan Singh, Rajnish Sharma, Shabir Khan, Krishan Bhagat, Ashok Dogra, Dina Nath Bhagat, Ved Mahajan, T S Bhajwa- Ex MP , all former minister/Ex legislators,  DCC presidents Shabir Khan, Hari Singh Chib, Krishan Bhagat, Ashok Dogra, Pankaj Dogra, Rajesh Sadotra,  Frontal Heads  Indu Pawar Ex MLA (Mahila Congress) , Udey Chib (PYC), Vijay Sharma (Seva Dal) , Sunny Parihaar (NSUI) , PCC Cells/Depts Vinod Sharma, Sdr Gurdarshan Singh, Karan Bhagat, Suresh dogra, Rajveer Singh, Gajan Singh, Adv KK Pangotra, Smt Zahida Khan, Kapil Singh, Sahil Sharma Adv Bhavishya sudan, Hussain Ali wafa, Pawan Raina, Amrit Bali, Ch Dwarka, Ritu Chaudhary, Satish Sharma, Sat Pal Spolia, Dr R K Khajuria,  Jatin Sharma, Sonu Dogra, Kewel Jogi , Shastri ji, Manohar Lal Moton,  Michael wazir, Vinod Khajuria, Surinder Khajuria, K.D. Sudan, Upadhyay,  Jagajit Singh Rimple, Baldev wazir, Rajinder Singh Nathu, Dewan Chand and others,  marched from Shaheedi  Chowk towards Raghunath Bazar but were stopped by a heavy contingent of police at Residency Road and then a Denis Gate.

Later they were taken in police vehicles to district police lines, where they’re presently detained.

They raised slogans against the Modi government and ED blaming it of framing Congress’s top leadership in a fake and false case.

Earlier the leaders held a peaceful dharna at shaheedi Chowk.. Addressing the gathering JKPCC Chief G A Mir blamed the Modi government of indulging in a political vendetta by abusing and misusing the government agencies against the Congress leaders and the Gandhi family.  He said Congress shall fight the vendetta and repressive policies of the BJP government like of fought against the British government. The entire rank and file of the party solidly stands behind the Gandhis and congress leadership, as the gathering raised slogans of Rahul Gandhi zindabaad, Rahul Gandhi aage bado, hum tumahare  sath hain.

Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma disclosed that hundreds of Congress leaders and activists were detained by the police for peaceful dharna and march, after duly informing the administration. The peaceful protest demonstration is guaranteed under the Constitution but the BJP government is denying the right to peaceful protest, while India is  the largest democracy of the world.
