Congress Party Prepares for Local Bodies Elections, Eyes Assembly Polls in Jammu and Kashmir
PCC Chief Affirms Congress' Full Strength in Upcoming Local Bodies Elections
17-05-2023 : Vikar Rasool Wani, the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, declared that the Congress Party is preparing for the upcoming local body elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Wani reiterated the party’s resolve to vigorously contest the elections and expose the divisive strategies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a meeting of party officials held at the JKPCC office. He emphasized that the Jammu and Kashmiri people are intelligent enough to respond appropriately to the BJP’s politics of animosity and separation.
Wani specifically mentioned the forthcoming Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) elections, urging attendees to focus on ward-wise programs aimed at strengthening the party’s connection with people at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need to direct efforts toward the elections and commence comprehensive preparations. The challenging ground realities must be addressed to assist the people and ensure a strong electoral performance. According to the PCC chief, the local body elections provide an opportunity for the Congress party to effectively represent the interests of the people.
In addition, Wani issued instructions to party leaders regarding the upcoming program scheduled for May 21, which commemorates the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. He emphasized that this day symbolizes the sacrifice of a national figure, and the Congress Party will pay tribute accordingly.
The working president, Raman Bhalla, highlighted the wave of support for the Congress Party observed in Karnataka and encouraged party workers to carry that momentum forward in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that these elections should also be seen as an opportunity to assess preparedness for future assembly polls. Bhalla motivated party workers to gear up for the elections.
Senior leader Mula Ram expressed confidence that with focused efforts, the Congress Party can achieve significant victories in the elections. He emphasized the need for collective action and emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve better governance than the self-centered and ignorant approach of the BJP, which has caused numerous problems for the people.
DCC Jammu (Urban) President Yogesh Sawhney announced a massive program to observe the death anniversary of the former Prime Minister, urging party workers and functionaries to prepare for the event and the upcoming elections.
DCC Jammu (Rural) Chief Hari Singh Chib highlighted organizational matters as the primary focus. He mentioned that district and block presidents are actively engaged in addressing the ground realities. He expressed confidence in winning the Local Body elections and stated that strategies would be outlined for both the elections and the possibility of future assembly polls.
