BJP creating political uncertainty in J&K- Congress
Jammu/Srinagar, May 09: Blaming the BJP for deliberately creating political uncertainty & instability in J&K, Congress has questioned the intentions behind the empowerment of the LG office with emergency powers, especially to intercept messages, as an assault on personal liberty and the right to privacy of individuals, besides another indication of centre ‘s intentions not to grant statehood to J&K.
Reacting to the recent developments coupled with claims of top BJP leaders in J&K, JKPCC has termed such actions as creating further uncertainty and political instability in Jammu and Kashmir. Further empowering the nominated head of UT with sweeping powers creates further doubts in the minds of people, who already feel betrayed over the denial of the restoration of statehood, breaking the repeated commitments by centre. The powers to poke noose at will into the personal affairs of individuals under the garb of security will endanger the right to privacy, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma said.
The recent claims of ruling party leaders in J&K about the stability of government are against the established democratic norms and traditions in this country and aimed at creating political instability and uncertainty. The power has gone to the heads of the BJP’s leaders who indulge in open bullying of political opponents, especially to destabilize an elected government in this sensitive region of the country.
