Srinagar, June 11: A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), currently on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir, called on National Conference President and Member of Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his Srinagar residence today.
Also present during the meeting were Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Sogami and Chief Spokesperson & MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq.
The CPI(M) delegation comprised senior party leaders including M A Baby (General Secretary, CPI(M)), Amra Ram (MP, Lok Sabha), K Radhakrishnan (MP, Lok Sabha), John Brittas (MP, Rajya Sabha), Su Venkatesan (MP, Lok Sabha), Bikash Ranjan (MP, Rajya Sabha), A A Rahim (MP, Rajya Sabha), M Y Tarigami (Central Committee Member, MLA).
During the meeting, wide-ranging discussions were held on the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Both sides emphasized the importance of peace, meaningful dialogue, and the protection of democratic and constitutional rights of the people.
It was unanimously agreed that the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir center around lasting peace, dignity, and stability. The leaders reiterated their commitment to upholding these values through continued democratic engagement and public outreach.
