Football star expresses gratitude after attending Trump’s Black Tie Dinner honouring Saudi Crown Prince
US, Nov 20 : Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has extended his gratitude to US President Donald Trump after being hosted along with his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, during an official visit to the United States.
In an Instagram post featuring a photograph of the couple with President Trump, Ronaldo thanked the President and First Lady for their hospitality.
“Thank you, Mr. President, for your invitation and for the warm welcome you and the First Lady gave me and my future wife, @georginagio,” he wrote.
Ronaldo added a message of purpose and optimism, saying, “Each of us has something meaningful to give, and I stand ready to do my part as we inspire new generations to build a future defined by courage, responsibility, and lasting peace.”
The Al Nassr forward attended a Black-Tie Dinner hosted by President Trump in honour of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, an event that also saw high-profile guests including Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
During the event, Trump shared a light-hearted moment with the audience, revealing that his youngest son, Barron Trump, is a devoted fan of Ronaldo.
“You know my son is a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo… And Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now. Just the fact that I introduced you,” Trump joked, drawing laughter from attendees.
Ronaldo’s visit marked his first trip to the United States since 2014. He is now set to return to Saudi Arabia to rejoin Al Nassr ahead of their upcoming fixture against Al Khaleej on Sunday.
