Says J&K still paying price for PDP’s tie up with BJP

Srinagar, 25 Apr: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar Saturday said that the leader’s responsible for pushing Jammu and Kashmir into crisis are now shedding crocodile tears to mislead the people.
Speaking to party functionaries and public delegations at the Nawa-e-Subha headquarters, Sagar said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have not forgotten who created the present situation. The meeting was marked by discussions on organizational matters, public grievances, and the prevailing political climate. Among those present were Shameema Firdous, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Syed Tawqeer Shah, JS Azad, and Pir Afaq Ahmad.
Taking a direct swipe at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he said its decision to ally with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) brought the BJP into power in Jammu and Kashmir, a move he described as disastrous for the region.
He said the alliance eroded public trust, deepened instability, and led to lasting political and institutional damage in Kashmir. “Those who facilitated this cannot now pretend sympathy. The people know exactly who is responsible,” he asserted.
Sagar reiterated that the National Conference will continue to stand firm in defending the rights, identity, and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
