CUET-UG Candidates to Get Revised Exam Dates After May 28 Postponement Over Bakrid
NTA to announce fresh examination schedule for affected candidates soon
New Delhi, May 25: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has deferred the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026 examinations slated for May 28 in both shifts after the Centre revised the Bakrid holiday date.
According to an official notice released on Sunday, new dates for the postponed examinations will be notified separately. The move follows an office memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on May 22 regarding the change in the Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
“In continuation of the Public Notice dated May 5, 2026, the CUET (UG) 2026 examinations scheduled for May 28 in both shifts have been postponed,” the agency stated.
The NTA has advised students to stay updated through the official websites and reach out to the helpdesk for further assistance or clarification.
Launched in 2022, CUET-UG serves as a common entrance platform for undergraduate admissions to central universities along with several state and private institutions. The examination assesses students in languages, subject-specific papers and general aptitude, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aimed at ensuring wider access and uniformity in higher education admissions.
